My name is Jackson Holland, and I built CareRoute because my family learned the hard way how unforgiving the disability support system can be.

My older brother, who has Down syndrome, didn’t receive many of the services he qualified for — not because my mom didn’t try, but because the system was impossible to navigate without a guide. Years passed before we even realized he should have been on the Innovations Waiver waitlist in North Carolina, and by then, the opportunity for early support was long gone.

Watching that happen changed me.
It made me realize how much families lose simply because no one explains what to do, when to do it, or how all the systems fit together.

I went on to study physics and math at MIT and later built AI deep research systems in my professional work. But the more experience I gained, the clearer it became that families like mine still face the same maze — fragmented state programs, endless forms, out-of-date information, and critical deadlines no one warns them about.

CareRoute exists to fill that gap.

It combines powerful research tools with the lived perspective of someone who watched his own family struggle without a roadmap. The goal is simple:
to give parents a clear, personalized, state-specific plan that shows exactly what their child is eligible for, who to contact, and what steps to take — before time runs out.

I built CareRoute because I wish something like it existed for my brother.
If it helps even one family avoid the delays and confusion we faced, then it’s worth it.
